As I reach my high school gates, I see the sign that I've read countless times that says 'Chamberlain High School'. I make my way through the gates and up the path with a few other students.
As I am entering the main foyer I hear a familiar voice calling my nick name "Tati!"I turn to see my best friend, Amelia Grayson, waving frantically at me amid the throng of bustling students. As usual, her skirt is above her knees and her blouse is untucked. It's Monday, and we have a friendship pact to dress the first Monday every month. I look down a my own attire and grimace; Amy always goes for the 'kinda-rebel' look. I, on the other hand, prefer my skirt to be perfectly pressed and exactly on my knees, and my blouse to be crease-less and spotless.
Once I reach her, she grabs my arm and immediately begins to tell me about her spy escapades, spying on her next door neighbor and apparently, the love of her life, Trey Gabriels. We reached my locker and hers, and she immediately checked her reflection in her mirror. She was stunning, of course, with her coppery hair in a artful bun and her glistening green eyes sparkling like bottle glass. Her pixie-like features made her seem like a a beautiful creature from a Forbidden Forest, and make my hands itch for my perfectly organized set of pencils. I'm not so bad myself, but my blond locks and blue-green eyes could never outshine her.
"So, we have English first lesson," she giggled, the one that meant she knew something I didn't. As we walked down the hall, to Mrs. Galler's class, I had a sneaky suspicion who she was talking about, and I didn't like it. At all.
