Christiana Grace Moriati

Beep…beep…beep

I hit stupid alarm clock with so much force, that is falls from my bedside table. Ugghhh! I should have just bought a normal clock. I swing my feet over the side of the bed and step onto the ice cold tiles. I’m making my way to the bathroom when I realize what a mess my bedroom is in. It’s not like I intended on making it, it just happened while I was entertaining my cousin’s little kids, and then last night I was too tired to clean up. My small desk is full of stick-figure drawings, pencil shavings and Koki pens, which I have been using since freshman year.

The floor is littered with whatever fancy clothes I have, which is not much. My nieces insisted that they had to try on everything. I will just clean it all up this afternoon. That is if I’m home early today. It’s Monday so I doubt it.

While I’m brushing my teeth I make a mental note of what is happening today. We have a physics quiz today, and I am deciding on whether I should hand in my history report on the Coliseum early, plus I have to be on time for cross-country practice or coach will probably kick me off the team even though I am the captain.

I’m done in the bathroom and already picking out my clothes for today. I choose white high-low hem shirt with a white inner, a pair of denim skinnies and my tan ankle boots that I bought last week. A dog-chain and a silver charm bracelet finished off my look.
I’m leaving my brown curls loose around my shoulders. My makeup is very basic: just a little eye liner and mascara around my blue-green eyes, blush to give my pale face some colour and a swipe of cherry kiss lip-gloss.

I take my pack and head down stairs, where I fill my flask with fresh coffee, grab a bagel and am greeted by a quick peck on the cheek from both my parents.
I’m almost out the door when my mom calls out my familiar nick name,
“Chris!”
“Yes, mom?” I replied.
“You forgot your pack, sweetie”
“Oh, thanks mom” I say and give her a quick hug before leaving once again, knowing I'm going to be late...
